There are a myriad of manufacturers and models from which you can pick (click here for a few of their web sites) - even different colors. These expensive little units require regular maintenance and care and if your child is a little one, wait till they take the aids and put them in their mouth!

It may seem difficult to determine exactly which solution is the best for your child.

Choosing the right hearing aid depends on several factors, the most important being the characteristics of your child’s hearing loss. Your doctor and audiologist will help you choose the hearing aids that best suit your child.

To prepare yourself for the first visit with an audiologist or hearing care professional, you may find it helpful to know some of the terminology used. Terms such as ‘digital’, ‘analogue’, ‘gain’ and ‘MPO’ may sound overwhelming. We have a glossary of hearing loss related terms available here.
