System to Create Innovative Network and Economic Enabler, Connecting International Rural Communities to the Canadian Hearing Society's Web Conferencing Network Via SkyFrames Technology Products and Services

COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 7 /CNW/ -- SkyFrames, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SKYU), a provider of low-cost, highly secure satellite broadband Internet services, announced today that it has signed a Letter of Intent with The Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) based in Toronto, Canada. SkyFrames and CHS will team up to aggressively build Satellite/Wireless infrastructures that support businesses and citizens of rural communities while addressing the needs of deaf and hard of hearing people throughout the Western Hemisphere including: Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, the United States and Latin America.

The Canadian Hearing Society's mission is to provide services that enhance the independence of deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people, and that encourage prevention of hearing loss. Through its Technology Initiatives Department (TID), CHS researches emerging technologies and develops applications to facilitate the integration of technology that will improve communications and access to education, employment opportunities and interpreters. CHS technology initiatives have received international recognition.

"CHS will provide IP video conferencing and ISDN gateway services to various North American communities needing to connect with the world via the CHS 24 port IP/ISDN Video Conferencing Bridge," stated Marc Serre, TID Director. "The relationship with SkyFrames will allow CHS to extend its reach to potentially thousands of rural communities that lack basic high speed connectivity to the Internet. This lack of connectivity not only has a negative impact on the typical user, but especially on those users with disabilities such as the deaf and hard of hearing people who benefit greatly from communicating via web-based video conferencing."

"This will be the first time that Satellite/WiFi Hotspots are utilized for the benefit of the community, as well as individuals with disabilities. The Canadian Hearing Society has once again demonstrated "out of the box" thinking in helping to deploy a system that benefits their constituents as well as the needs of rural communities," stated Edward Bukstel, Vice President of SkyFrames, Inc.

"This agreement recognizes that when people come first, technology will follow. The needs of all citizens in rural communities are addressed by the capabilities of SkyFrames in conjunction with the Video Conferencing Technology and translation expertise developed at CHS," stated James France, CEO of SkyFrames. "Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing prefer to communicate via visual modes such as Video Conferencing. This is especially important when considering legal proceedings and documents. Utilizing the existing CHS web conferencing bridge technology and proven infrastructure in conjunction with SkyFrames technology, deaf and hard of hearing individuals in rural communities will be able to utilize a direct means communication and interpretation," stated Serre.

SkyFrames and CHS will deploy Satellite WiFi Hotspots that will provide individual IP addresses via a 802.11 compliant wireless network. The businesses and single-user subscribers in an individual community will subsidize the costs of the VSAT systems, Wireless infrastructure, and Video Conferencing Deployment. Subscribers will have T1 equivalent broadcast speeds that will be an enhancement to existing communications links at rural sites. Potentially thousands of communities in North America will be affected by this initiative.
